Salem goes #1 on iTunes Charts December 27th, 2004 Proving that his debut album mojo is a complete success is the scoring of two No.1 singles on the iTunes Charts. The singles Can you handle this and Have you ever both topped the charts for 2 and 4 weeks consecutively. In fact, all 5 singles released from the mojo album have peaked inside the iTunes Top 10. Currently, Salem is also a guest vocalist on the new song by Jeuvani and N2DB called Get the club movin' which peaked at No.3.
Record deals, movie roles, soundtracks and a new album?! December 23th, 2004 He has certainly kept himself busy, but it seems that claiming 2005 would be a huge year for Mohammed Salem was an understatement. Rumours continue to circulate, but inside sources have confirmed that 2005 will see some massive projects put Mohammed Salem into the spotlight. Recording companies are set to make some offers according to his manager, currently overseas. But that's just the beginning; he is set to record a song for a motion picture soundtrack, he has also been invited to audition for a role in the very same movie and is currently working on his second album. Mohammed remains tight lipped on the movie and it's soundtrack claiming he cannot reveal any information for copyright reasons; but look out for it!!!!
A year to reflect on and more! December 15th, 2004 It's been a year since Mohammed Salem released his debut single Nasty and almost a year since the release of mojo; the singer's debut album. But as 2004 comes to a close, Mohammed Salem is far from taking a holiday. Whilst his songs were cashing in on the pop charts, Mohammed has been hard at work on some new projects for 2005. Mohammed's album mojo has scored 5 hit singles and SMI plans to release a sixth song from the album. SMI's new spokesperson, Karyn Jackson insists that the 6th single Anytime, anyplace is the perfect song to close the album's release and promotion. "It's a very sensual, seductive and sexual song that really gives off a positive vibe for the album. It's the song that closes the album and we think it's the perfect last song to release from the album", Jackson said. Meanwhile, Jackson has also indicated that whilst wanting to remain tight lipped on forthcoming projects for Mohammed in 2005; she does insist it will be a huge year for him.
A very Spoilt?! Christmas November 29th, 2004 With Mohammed's latest hit Have you ever receiving such massive airplay since its release, it certainly doesn't look like the song is ever going to die. It remains strong on the singles charts, but SMI has decided to make way for the release of the 5th single. Mohammed's rendition of Kiss Kiss made famous in Australia by Holly Vallance is definitely one of the highlights of the debut album. However, Salem has entitled the song Spoilt which is actually what the song was originally called. The song initially written and sung by Turkish singer Tarkan, Salem is believed to have really made the song his own. Whilst most other artists are spending the festive season with Christmas songs, Salem prefers to pump up the dance hits. This funky tune is already catchy in numerous clubs.
