Born on November 12, 1977; Mohammed Salem developed an artistic interest which would see him develop into a young singer/songwriter/actor. Mohammed Salem began singing and dancing from the age of 3; his influences include Janet Jackson, Karyn White and Whitney Houston. After his parents considered placing him at Jonny Young's "Young Talent Time" school, he was etching out his own path. He made his acting debut in the 1991 theatrical production French Blue. In years to follow, Mohammed Salem continued his acting success in various theatrical roles which included, Voyage of the Doodads, The Adventures of Disco Dot and by 1995 made his musical debut. Mohammed had by this time developed as a singer/songwriter and actor. His debut single They don't care which he had solely written caused controversy upon it's release on the compilation album Simply Upfield in 1995. He also performed to a sell out crowd over two huge nights with other singers in a special multi-cultural performance. After the success of the compilation album and much media publicity on his music; Mohammed's musical journey went into a spin. He continued to push forward with his efforts in landing a record deal to no avail. In 2000, Mohammed went to the U.K. where he would pursue his musical ambition and worked on some demo recordings. His songs did get some club play, but personal circumstances had the singer cut his trip short and return to Melbourne. In 2001, Mohammed made his crossover to nasheeds and recorded The Greatest Gift; the religious set becoming the biggest selling nasheed album that year. In 2004, he is back with a new album; self-exploring, self-healing and adopting new beliefs. Here; the journey continues. The debut album "mojo" has been an album that has taken Mohammed a lifetime to make. Now he's ready to share himself with the world! The first single from the album entitled Nasty has already peaked at No.3 on the Internet Pop Charts, and the second single has already peaked inside the Top 30. Now Mohammed is on the verge of releasing his third single Can you handle this accompanied with his first ever music video. The single is already getting great reviews despite being extremely controversial.
